Cream Legbar Sexing Tips

Cream Legbars are an auto-sexing breed, which allows for easy sexing of chicks upon hatching based on their distinct color and markings.

Cream Legbar sexing can sometimes be tricky depending on how the bloodline was bred to keep the auto sexing traits. Our line of Cream Legbar chicks can be identified by several key features for sex determination.

Female Cream Legbar chicks (on the right) exhibit eyeliner extending from the beak. In contrast, male Cream Legbar chicks (on the left) display eyeliner extending from behind the eye, often with a broken-off appearance.

Males can be identified by a noticeable white dot on the head, lighter coloring, and the absence of chipmunk lines from the head to the neck.

Females typically exhibit defined chipmunk lines extending from the head throughout the tail, with some possibly having a small white dot on the head. However it is significantly less pronounced compared to male chicks.
