“Easter eggers” refers to a planned cross breed chicken that carries the blue egg gene, allowing hens to lay a variety of egg colours. They are not a standardized pure breed but are popular for their colourful eggs, friendly nature, unique appearance and often very hardy.
  • Created from planned cross breeding between various heritage breeds
  • Mature weight for standard type is 2.5 – 3.4kg
  • Fast maturing – First eggs around 7-8 month
  • Medium to large sized eggs, expected to lay between 230-280 per year.
  • Broodiness – Low

Olive and Easter eggers are a unique hybrid created by crossing various coloured egg laying breeds such as Marans, Cream Legbar, Welsummer and Araucana and more.  Females grow into efficient-sized layers, while males develop into decent-sized birds, making a practical dual-purpose option for any backyard flock.

 

From our current breeding line, girls are expected to lay light to olive-green and brown shades eggs. All beautiful additions to any egg basket.
