Marbar are a unique hybrid created by crossing Marans and Cream Legbars. Marans are known for their strong build and rich dark brown eggs, while Cream Legbars bring excellent laying ability and blue egg genetics, thanks to their Leghorn heritage. Females grow into efficient-sized layers, while males develop into decent-sized birds, making Marbar a practical dual-purpose option for any backyard flock.
One great advantage of this cross is that the chicks can be sexed at hatch by markings on their head. This can be especially helpful for keepers wanting to know the sex of their chicks early on.
From our current breeding line, most Marbar girls are expected to lay light to olive-green eggs, with the occasional surprise of lightly tinted or brown shades. All beautiful additions to any egg basket!
